Jar #2 in my "Peck's Rock Shop Collection" series.
This 8 oz display jar contains an assortment of genuine lapidary stone scraps collected by my father in 1967 from Peck's Rock Shop in Battle Creek, Michigan.
These are original cutting scraps from a Michigan rock shop that was owned and operated by my maternal grandfather. It was at Peck's Rock Shop that my parents met, making these stones a small but meaningful piece of my family's history.
Each jar in this series is different. The contents are carefully selected from my father's original collection and include a variety of rough lapidary materials collected over 50 years ago.
As a special bonus, this jar includes a genuine fossil horn coral displayed at the top. It's a little surprise and a thank-you for the collector who gives these vintage rock shop treasures a new home.
The glass jar is modern and was purchased only to safely display and preserve the original contents.
